All of the Churches in Hatay, who are preparing for Christmas Eve, were given a Christmas Tree by the Department of Culture and Social Affairs of the Metropolitan Municipality of Antioch. Officials from the Department of Culture and Social Affairs pointed out that these gifts were distributed in all churches in Antioch and wished that the Christmas Day would be celebrated in peace and enthusiasm.
The teams led by the Mayor of Antioch Metropolitan Municipality Assoc. Dr. Lütfü Savaş continue to be with Christian citizens on the Christmas Day.
Municipal authorities visited all the churches, especially those in the central district of Antioch, Iskenderun, Samandag and Altinozu and gave the Christmas gifts.

The delegation of the Mayor was hosted by the Apostolic Vicar and the Bishop of Anatolia Monsignor Bizzeti in the Latin Catholic Church. Bizzeti said: “We thank for the visit and the gifts; the Mayor of Antioch Metropolitan Municipality Assoc. Dr. Lütfü Savaş and all his staff for these visits. We are also grateful to them for taking care of us every year and we are grateful for all the gifts they brought.”
The teams of the Department of Culture and Social Affairs of the Metropolitan Municipality of Antioch also visited the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church and the Syriac Catholic Churches in Iskenderun and presented their gifts to the church officials. (Iskenderun)
