Alber Asanasiyos Fahd, the Metropolitan Bishop of Latakia visited churches in Iskenderun Arsuz and Altinozu Tokacli as part of his pastoral visits. Metropolitan Bishop Fahd received information from the presidents of the foundations about the Church of Saint George (Mar Circos) in Iskenderun and the Churches of Saint John in Arsuz, as well as the Virgin Mary Church in Altinozu.
He Visited the Historical Churches of St. George and St. John
The Metropolitan Bishop Fahd, who came to İskenderun within the scope of the pastoral visits, visited the historical Church of Saint George (Mar Circos) which is the second church in the city. He is accompanied by the President of the Orthodox Church Foundation Can Teymur. Fahd also lit candles in front of St. George’s icon and prayed. Some members of the congregation were present during this visit. He received information from the parish priest Rev. Fr. Dimitri Yildirim and the Church Foundation’s President Can Teymur.
Metropolitan Bishop Fahd also visited the Church of St. John (Mar Yohanna) in Arsuz and met with the Christian community of Arsuz. Fahd did a short prayer in the church and met with the Orthodox Church Foundation President Corc Deniz and Iskenderun Orthodox Church Foundation President Can Teymur. He was accompanied by Rev. Dimitri Yildirim and Rev. Ispir Teymur.
He consecrated the Church in Tokacli with Blessed Water and Incense
