Gürkan Çamsun, who has been in service for many years at Kadıköy Anatolian Protestant Church in Kadıköy and served as an editor at Yeni Yaşam Yayınları, was appointed as pastor on Wednesday, 25 September.
Many Pastors from Istanbul and Surrounding Provinces Attended
Many Protestant Church leaders, especially from Istanbul and the surrounding provinces attended the ceremony which started with hymns. The opening speech was made by Levent Kınran, the Chief Pastor of the Anatolian Protestant Churches. Following his encouraging speech, Steve Nickolson, the Senior Pastor of the Vineyard Church in the United States gavea speech. He said “Some people are more devoted to God and church than others, but this is actually because God has appointed them. They devote themselves to a lifelong service, their lives become completely transparent.” Then the pastors called Gürkan Çamsun to take the oath of pastorship as the pastor of Kadıköy Anatolian Protestant Church. Çamsun swore in front of God and guests, and pastors from Istanbul and the surrounding provinces blessed him with their prayers.
