The 23rd inter-association quiz is being held this year at the Semerciyan Association in Üsküdar, which won the last competition.
In 2019, the competition was not organized due to the death of the Patriarch Mutafyan. This year it started on Monday evening, February 24 for the 23rd time. Besides the host Semerciyan, also Aramyan, Bezciyan, Getronagan, Pangaltı Mıhitaryan, Sahakyan and Tarkmançats associations are participating in this year’s competition.
The competition which lasts 3 and half weeks -with 2 sessions a week (mon-thurs), consists of 7 stages. A total of 10 questions are asked in each section (3 questions on the Armenian language and literature) including literature, history, sports, science and general culture.
For 23 years, this contest coincides with the great fasting period. The reason for this is that it is an alternative to many recreational activities that are interrupted during the fasting period.
As in recent years, well-known theater artist Selin Çavuşoğlu presents this year’s competition with entertaining both audiences and competitors with his jokes and warm attitudes.
The association team which gets the highest score on the last day of the competitions, is entitled to organize the quiz next year, to form jury and questions.
The award of the contest is that the members of the association and the audience coming from different parts of the city have good time together and refresh their knowledge.
