Due to the increase of Covid-19 patients in Istanbul, Izmir and Ankara, The Greek Orthodox Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Antioch and the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas of Iskenderun in Hatay announced that they will continue their worship without a congregation.
Antioch Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church Father Fadi Hurigil, in his post on Facebook, informed that they temporarily closed the Sacred Rites to the members of the congregation in order to protect the public health due to the increasing number of coronavirus cases.
He also wrote: “It has been decided that the Sunday Masses should be performed only with Church Fathers and a choir member, also the first close relatives can attend to possible funurals, weddings and baptism ceremonies. These measures and practices will be implemented until a second announcement.”
Iskenderun St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church also sent an information message to the members of the congregation.
