The Archbishop of the Armenian Catholic Community of Turkey Mgr Levon Zekiyan, presided a commemorational event for the distinguished literary, poet, researcher and philologist Kevork Pamukciyan.
Archbishop Aram Atesyan, Editor and Journalist Robert Haddejian, Publisher and Curator Osman Köker, Folk Literature researcher, educator and editor Sabri Koz, Armenian Catholic clergy, writers and members of the community also attended the event.
Kevork Pamukciyan’s life and works were presented at the event. The Pamukciyan Commemoration, where Armenian melodies were also performed attracted great interest.
Who is Kevork Pamukciyan?
Born in a family whose the origin from Kayseri, Kevork Pamukciyan was born and raised in Istanbul and made valuable contributions to Turkish historiography. Pamukciyan has published more than four hundred articles in in various periodicals and books Armenian and Turkish, and up to five hundred articles in six encyclopedias.
