Historic Day for the Assyrian Chaldean People and the Chaldean Church
Monseigneur Sabri Anar was appointed Archbishop of Diyarbakır of the Chaldean Church of Turkey with a consecration ceremony held at Saint Esprit Cathedral. These important moments were broadcast live on SAT-7 TÜRK screens and social media accounts.

Sabri Anar, a priest of the Chaldean Community of St. Jean Apôtre Church in Arnouville, France, was appointed Archbishop of the Chaldean Community of Turkey in Diyarbakır on May 24 by the Holy Council of the Chaldean Church in Bagdad and with the approval of Pope Francis.

Cardinal Louis Rafael Sako, Patriarch of the Chaldean Catholic Union of Iraq, lead the ceremony. The Council of Catholic Bishops of Turkey congratulated Monseigneur Sabri Anar on his election as the new Archbishop of Diyarbakır for the Chaldeans in Turkey. Bishops from Turkey and around the world, diplomatic representatives, priests and nuns, representatives from Protestant churches, heads of foundations and community leaders were present at the ceremony.
The ceremony was translated into Chaldean, Arabic, Turkish and French.
