The Holy Easter Eve Mass and Easter Feast were splendidly held at the Istanbul Holy Spirit Cathedral Church.
The ceremony, directed by the Apostolic Vicar of the Istanbul Latin Catholic Church, Bishop Msgr. Massimiliano Palinuro, was accompanied by the priests and the deacon of the Cathedral Church.
In the glorious rites of Easter Eve and Easter Feast, where the Catholic community had intense participation; hymns in Turkish, Latin and English by the Cathedral choir enlivened the ceremonies.
Easter Eve began with the consecration of the fire lit in the Cathedral courtyard. After Monsignor Massimiliano explained the meaning of Easter Eve, he drew a cross on the Easter candle, marking the letters Alpha and Omega and the date of the year around it. Then, when he lit the Easter candle, the priests and the congregation lit their candles with the Easter candle.
Afterwards, the church was entered with the congregation and the lights were turned on.
That same night, four adults were Baptized and received their first Communion as children of the Lord and attended the church.
