A Holy Liturgy was held for the Feast of the Name of Jesus Christ under the auspices of Archbishop Levon Zekiyan in the Galata Surp Pırgiç Church, the first Armenian Catholic Church in the world.
On this holy name, the Armenian Catholic Church remembers the naming of Jesus. Jesus was called “Immanuel”. This word means “God is with us.” Jesus-Immanuel (God is with us) is celebrated with a special ceremony held on January 1 each year. In addition to Archbishop Levon Zekiyan, Archpriest of the Pangaltı Anarat Highutyun Church Hagopos Çopuryan, Archpriest of the Church of Samatya Anarat Highutyun Abraham Fırat, Archdeacon Agop Minasyan and Maestro Arek Doldyan, Organist Sevan Harutyun Arapoğlu, chorists and deacons were also present.
