Five members of the Diyarbakır Protestant Church in Sur district were baptized. After the Sunday worship, the ceremony was held in the pool in the church garden with the participation of the Christian community of Diyarbakır. Ahmet Güvener, the pastor of the Diyarbakır Protestant Church gave information about the meaning of baptism. After his speech, the new believers shared their testimony by telling how they adopted the Christian faith.
One of the persons who was baptized said that he was a very arrogant person. He was alone, helpless and unhappy. But after believing in Jesus Christ, he prayed Christ to change him, and he began to change and became very joyful.
“I WAS VERY ARROGANT BEFORE BELIEVING”
In his testimony, another person who was baptized said: “I was questioning God before I believed in Jesus. And I wish I was born as a man because of the woman’s place in the society. Then I visited a church in the time of Christmas. Now I know Jesus and I’m glad that I came into the world as a woman. Because Jesus loves me so much and I am his daughter.”
The new baptized souls received the communion for the first time. And then the Church members blessed the baptized souls and prayed for them.
