According to the church calendar, the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrated the “Yerevman Holy Cross” (Appearance of the Holy Cross) week, which is one of the weeks of the Resurrection Festival, on Sunday, May 02.
The Concecration, which was performed by Father Nerses Ayvazyan, was published on the Patriarchate’s Facebook page. Members of the Patriarchate Armaş Choir also sang hymns in the Holy Liturgy, where the spiritual trainees of the Patriarchate serve the sacrament. Following this broadcast, the Patriarch of the Armenians of Turkey Sahak II gave sermons in Armenian and Turkish about the Yerevman Holy Cross week. Patriarch Sahak II began his sermon by describing the history of the “Appearance of the Holy Cross”. He then described a miracle that took place in Egypt in 1968.
“If a person is a believer, he sees the miracles of God”
Some titles from the Turkish sermon of Patriarch Sahak II are as follows;
“Although God doesn’t do it very often, he occasionally creates cracks in this material world and sends his own light through those cracks to refresh our faith a little. I personally do not believe that these events can create faith from scratch because if a person has faith, he sees the miracles of God. If a person is unbelieving, even if the greatest miracle happens, he will find a fault with them. What we call religion is not just good morals. Let’s be good, moral, loving people, of course these things should happen, but without religion, people should and have done these things. So what is religion? Religion also tells us to expand the consciousness of the universe, do not rely only on the five senses.
There is only Earth, water, air, no fire, there is something called Spirit, there is something called God, there is a creator, nothing is accidental and these things are in one another. Take care of these, for you are mortal. And you will leave your body and move into that spiritual realm. seek your god. Seek and seek the one who gave you this life. It is offered to us by God, it says; dig this, open it and create a hole there, a hole of Faith and shout from there, Lord I am here save me. I am trapped in matter, in money, in sin, but I believe there is this light… Dear brothers and sisters, expand your view of the Universe because science is expanding.
The biggest mistake is to consider science as a religion. It is absolutizing science. Of course, we will rely on the data, but there is also intuition from God, there are Prophets from God, there are things He tells us, and we must live by listening to them. Dear brothers and sisters, we will all die and they will put the Cross on our graves. Why?; Because He is our hope, because He is the only thing we will cling to when it’s all over. And God said this Cross is real, I showed it in the year of 351. And I finish as Jesus Christ finished all his sermons; “Let those with ears hear” Amen.
