On Wednesday, April 26, Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu visited the Armenian Patriarchate of Turkey and was hosted by His Beatitude Patriarch Sahak II.

Congratulating his guest on Ramadan, the Patriarch emphasized that this year Ramadan and Easter were celebrated at the same time, but unfortunately, the grief and pain caused by the devastation caused by the earthquake overshadowed the joy of the celebration. Conscious of being one nation, our citizens joined hands and helped each other to ease the pain of wounded hearts. He expressed his hope that with this spirit of unity and solidarity, the difficulties will be overcome and our fellow citizens will return to normal life in their regions.
He talked about the approach taken by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has always been interested in the problems of the community and has always sought to find solutions to them.
Minister Soylu thanked Patriarch Sahak II for his personal attendance at the State Medal for Outstanding Sacrifice Award Ceremony in Ankara. He also expressed his gratitude for the material and moral support provided by the Armenian community, which is an example of the spirit of unity shown by the members of the community. On February 6, he witnessed the earthquake disaster and said that the presence of helpful citizens and foreign aid organizations in the region was invaluable for the people affected by the earthquake.
