Mardin and Diyarbakır Metropolitan Saliba Özmen and Kırklar Church Parish priest Rev. Gabriyel Akyüz celebrated the mass where the chorus performed hyms in Turkish, Arabic, Hebrew and Syriac. During the mass the Metropolitan Özmen prayed for the unity of the country and for the union to last forever. Özmen expressed that the feasts establish peace, tranquility and beauty among the people. He also emphasized that they prayed for the needed peace and comfort. Özmen continued : “To see the unity of our country is indeed our greatest hope and our prayer, and all of our intentions are in this direction. This is also an inspiration from the Bible, “You will pray for those who rule the country to be the cause of your country’s survival” “It is really important for the unity of Christians, Muslims, Ezidis and people of other beliefs to pray together in one body for the union and solidarity of the country.”
