A ceremony of gratitude and thanksgiving was held at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in İzmir Göztepe on Sunday, May 15, on the occasion of Father Gabriel Ferone’s priesthood life and pastoral mission service at Göztepe Church.
Archbishop of Izmir Monsignor Martin Kmetec conducts the service in the church, which is full, while Father Gabriel Ferone, Rector of Göztepe Church, Father Ugo De Rosa, Rector of St. John’s Cathedral, Father Alessandro Amprino, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Izmir, Father and father Ireneusz Bochinsky, Priest of Buca St. John the Baptist Church and Dariusz Stanislaw, Priest of St. Helena Church in Karşıyaka, accompanied the mass.
First of all, the special painting work on the entrance door of the church bearing the signature of Arya Kamalı, an Iranian origin Miniaturist artist living in Izmir, Blessed by Msgr. Martin.
After the ritual is over, Msgr. Martin gave Father Gabriel a gift with words of encouragement and embraced him. Then Father Gabriel took the floor and told about the painting project on the door, first which was important to him.
After thanking the congregation, he wished the best of luck to Father Ireneusz, who will take office after him in Göztepe. After the ceremony, Father Gabriel had very sincere and warm conversations with the attendees for a long time.
