On Thursday morning, August 6, 2020, at the Greek Monastery of Metomorphosis (Image Change) in Kinaliada, the Feast of Transfiguration was celebrated under the presidency of the Istanbul Greek Patriarch Bartholomeos.
Turkish Armenian Patriarch Islands Religious Officer Father Harutyun Damadyan and Arda Çınar, a board member of the Kinaliada Surp Krikor Lusavoriç Church attended the annual celebrations of the Monastery.
After the ceremony held at the Monastery Church, the Patriarch blessed the grapes, symbols of blessings. After the ceremony, which lasted about two hours, the founders and benefactors of the monastery were remembered with prayers. Later, a love table was set in the garden of the monastery.
While the opening speech was given by the Summer Camp director, Diamandi Kumvopulos, Patriarch Bartholomeos addressed those present in the garden. The Patriarch specially thanked Priest Harutyun from the Armenian Church, who attended the traditional annual celebrations. Later, a musical concert was held by two young people. On this occasion, those present in the garden received their admiration from Patriarch Bartholomeos. Father Harutyun, offered the love and best wishes of Turkish Armenian Patriarch His Beatitude Sahak II, to Patriarch Bartholomew. Finally, he wished the coronavirus to lose its effect and that these celebrations will be even more enthusiastic next year.
