On Friday 21 February 2020 two deacons are ordained priests by His Beatitude the Patriarch Sahak II Mashalyan at the Surp Asdvadzadzin Armenian Apostolic Church in Ortaköy.
In this special ceremony, Deacon Sevan Arapoğlu and Deacon Saro Ayvazyan walked through the church on their knees and accompanied by the Archpriest Tatul Anuşyan, Senior Priest Krikor Damatyan and Senior Priest Drtad Uzunyan, with prayers and hymns, came to the front of His Beatitude the Patriarch Sahak II and were presented to the church with “the call for the priesthood”.
After the special prayers that the Patriarch read for this ceremony, two deacons stood up and gave their vows. After the sermon, in which the patriarch explained the meaning of the day, the ceremony ended.
