Hatay Armenian Parishes Priest Rev. Fr. Avedis Tabaşyan visited on April 15 the Armenian Churches in Malatya and Elazığ for Easter celebrations.
Even if it is delayed, the celebrations in Malatya and then in Elazığ were celebrated with great enthusiasm.
“Krisdos Haryav i Merelots”,“Jesus Christ is Risen”
Fr. Tabaşyan who gave a brief preaching on Easter said “When we celebrate the Easter with great enthusiasm, we shout together saying “Krisdos Haryav i Merelots” (Jesus Christ is risen). With the death of Lordjesus, we have a new life. That is why we are tapping our eggs in the “Resurrection Day” with joy.”
Following the 50-day fasting period of Lenten, the community participated the Eucharistic celebration led by Fr. Avedis Tabaşyan.
“Cemetery and home visits were carried out”
Following the ceremony, Fr. Tabaşyan visited the Christian cemetery and prayed for the souls of the faithful who passed away.
The next day Fr. Tabaşyan went to Elazığ, visited the houses of the Armenian community and blessed their house one by one.
