According to a report in the Greek media, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I during the meeting with representatives of ‘Hellenic- American Union’ stated that there is little time left for the reopening of the Halki Theological Seminary.
In addition to the report, the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I in his meeting with the Hellenic- American Union representatives stated that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu talked about the reopening of the Theological Seminary and have assured him. Patriarch Bartholomew said that they are “optimistic” upon this meeting.
The meeting was held in the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Istanbul in the presence of the Hellenic- American Union President Carl Hollister, the Canadian Hellenic- American Union President Chris Argiriou and the Bursa Metropolitan Mgr. Elpidoforos and other leaders.
