The 30th Anniversary of the Priesthood of the Chief Priest of the Taksim Surp Hovhan Vosgeperan Church, Vartan Kazancıyan, was celebrated in the Sunday Mass after the Hampartsum Feast, which is celebrated on the 40th day after Easter in the Armenian Catholic Churches of Turkey.
In the Holy Mass held on Sunday, May 29, presided over by the Most Reverend Archbishop Levon Zekiyan; The head priest of the Surp Hovhan Vosgeperan Church, Vartan Kazancıyan, the Head of the Samatya Anarat Hığutyun Church, Abraham Fırat, Der Haygaram Çekiç, the Head Diyakon Der Hagop Minasyan, Gigasargavak Jan Acemoğlu, and the readers Levon Yunkes and Canyontan accompanied.
Having completed his 30th year as a priest after receiving the priesthood blessing, Vartan Kazancıyan has been working as the Chief Priest at the Surp Hovhan Vosgeperan Church in Istanbul Taksim for the last six years.
Taksim Surp Hovhan Vosgeperan Choir sang hymns under the direction of Chief Zaven Agay in the ceremony that started with the ‘Prayer of Rosary’ due to the month of May. The ritual was shared live on the social media pages of the Surp Hovhan Vosgeperan Church.
After the service, Armenian songs were sung in the church garden with enthusiasm by the church choir and the congregation at the celebration held in honor of the 30th Priesthood celebrations of Archpriest Vartan Kazancıyan.
