Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Beirut Hakan Çakıl visited the Orthodox Metropolitan of Lebanon Ilyas Avde.
Ambassador Çakıl who presented the letter of trust to the Lebanese President Michel Avn, met with the Orthodox Metropolitan Avde and made a joint press statement.
Çakıl stated that his visit to the clergymen in Lebanon was realized within the framework of the interview program and they were willing to strengthen the relations.
In addition, he stated that the Orthodox Church is an important actor for establishing a bridge of friendship between Turkey and Lebanon. He also added that they also talked about regional issues with Avde.
