One of the biggest holidays of Christianity, the Baptism Festival (Epiphany) was celebrated with an enthusiastic ritual at the Mersin Greek Orthodox Church.
Called also the Day of Appearance, which was the day when Jesus Christ was baptized and the Holy Spirit landed upon him in the appearance of a dove was celebrated with the ritual held in Mersin Greek Orthodox Church. Father İspir Teymur led the ritual.
In the ritual, the prayer of the blessing of water was accompanied by the chants. Father Teymur sprinkled the blessed water with the olive branches to the congregation attending the ritual. In this first ceremony of the new year, Father İspir Teymur wished peace and tranquility for our country and the world.
