Protestant churches in Istanbul celebrated the Easter (Resurrection) Feast together for the first time on Saturday, April 17, after 2 years of pandemic restrictions.
Kadıköy International Community Church
Kadıköy International Community Church (KUT) celebrated Easter on Saturday, April 17 at the Kadıköy Marriage Office, given by the Kadıköy Municipality for the Easter celebration.
Many guests outside the church came to the ceremony, in which church members greatly participated. The celebration, which began at the time of worship, continued with witnessing. Last year, the holiday celebration, which was prepared by the children as a video, was watched by the visitors. Then, Vahan Isaoglu, pastor of the KUT Church, gave his special Easter sermon. While the ceremony ended with the last Resurrection hymns played, the participants shared in the coctail.
Kadıköy Anatolian Protestant Church
The Easter ceremony, which was also held in Kadıköy Anatolian Protestant Church this year, was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The ceremony, attended by church members and guests, started with hymns and a slide show of the 3 Trees story was performed. The ceremony ended with Erdal Acar’s special Easter sermon. After the sermon, church members and guests who came to the Easter celebration came together in the churchyard and chatted.
Pera Resurrection Church
The Easter ceremony was celebrated with all its enthusiasm at the Pera Resurrection Church. Many guests, as well as church members, attended the celebration. The ceremony, which began with resurrection hymns, continued with the sermon on “The Truly Resurrection of Christ and the Resurrected God.” After the congregation’s prayer, it was passed to the Lord’s Supper. The ceremony ended with hymns sung for the last time.
