Youth Festivals led by the Armenian Patriarchate of Türkiye continued with the music festival under the leadership of Patriarch Sahak II.
The Yeridasartas Paradon (youth festivals) journey, which started with the “Paradesil” Armenian parody festival with the patronage and blessings of Patriarch Sahak II, continued with the “Armenian Music” festival on Friday, December 15, 2023, with the participation of young people from Armenian schools. The festival took place in the Dikran Gülmezgil Hall of Bakırköy Dadyan Primary School.
Patriarch Sahak II presided over the festival. Father Shirvan Mürzyan, Father Şahen Uhanyan and Father Nerses Ayvazyan were also present in the hall.
More than 300 students attended the festival, where 210 students from Armenian minority schools participated with video clips of Armenian songs they prepared.
Helda Aynayüz made the opening speech of the festival, which started with the songs sung by the host Dadyan School Choir under the direction of their music teacher Ari Barutoğlu. Thanking His Holiness the Patriarch for allowing young people to organize such organizations, Aynayüz informed the guests about the festival and its upcoming programs. After thanking everyone who contributed, she handed over the microphone to Dadyan School principal Yeranuhi Balcı. After Balcı gave a speech about the place of music in language development, video clips and live performances started.
At the festival, students of Hagop Mamigonyan, conductor of the Lusavoriç Choir; The performances of Adis Doğanay, who participated in the festival on behalf of Getronagan High School, and Jerom Şimşekçak and Liza Gülbenkoğlu, who participated on behalf of Esayan High School, attracted attention.
Making the closing speech, Patriarch Sahak II firstly congratulated those who took on the mission of organizing the festival. He thanked the Board of Directors of Bakırköy Dznunt Surp Asdvadzadzni Church Foundation and Dikran Gülmezgil, the sponsor of the organization, for making it possible to use their halls in this organization.
After the participation certificates were distributed, the meals prepared by the members of the Patriarchate Food Commission and the chef of the Dadyan School, chaired by Lizi Çerme-Civanyan, were eaten.
