American Archbishop Elpidophoros shared on his social media account Facebook that he visited the US Consulate General in New York and conveyed his deepest condolences to Consul General Reyhan Özgür for those who lost their lives in the disaster in Turkey.
The sharing of Archbishop Elpidophoros is as follows:
”Ι visited the Turkish Consulate General in New York and met with Consul General Reyhan Özgür, to whom Ι expressed my deepest condolences for the victims of the tragedy in Türkiye and signed the book of condolences. I shared my prayers for the rescue missions still underway. GOARCH (The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America) is initiating an Earthquake Relief Fund to help with both the immediate needs and the longer-term implications of the devastation from the deadly earthquakes for Türkiye and Syria.”
