With the support of the Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, the “Hand in Hand for New Hopes After the Pandemic” concert was held by the Armenian Patriarchate of Turkey on Monday evening, May 23.
In the concert held at St. Anthony Church, in order to pray for the 6 million people who lost their lives due to the disease worldwide during the Covid-19 pandemic and to gain new hopes for our country, soloist Dr. Karin Çubukciyan Bozkurt was accompanied by Anna Gevorgyan Uğurluyan with organ.
In addition to the Patriarch of the Armenians of Turkey, Sahak II, Archbishop Aram Atesyan from the office of the Patriarchate, high priest Yeğişe Uçkunyan, Priest Shnork Donikyan, Priest Hovagim Seropyan, Father Shirvan Murzyan, Metropolitan Apostolos representing Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Bishop Beniamin and deacon Paisios, Assyrian Ancient Patriarch Deputy Metropolitan Mor Yusuf Çetin, Diyarbakır and Mardin Metropolitan Mor Saliba Özmen, Archpriest Vartan Kazancıyan on behalf of the Spiritual Leader of the Armenian Catholic Community of Turkey Archbishop Levon Zekiyan, Priests under the leadership of Priest Anton Bulai, on behalf of the Franceskan priests, and the Chief Rabbi of the Turkish Jewish Community, Rabbi Izhak Haleva.
The concert program was started with Father Şirvan Mürzyan reading the text send to the event by Presidential Communications Director Prof. Dr. İbrahim Altun. President Altun pointed out in his text that this concert was held due to the end of the pandemic.
Then the concert started. First part repertoire, consisted of works by Verdi, Schubert, Mozart, Harutyunyan, Stradella, Frisina, Pourcel and Gomes. After a short break, the second part started. In this part, “Surp” from the Armenian church pieces by Yegmalyan; “Der Vogormya” by Priest Gomidas and “Derunagan Agodk” (Lord’s Prayer) again by Yegmalyan were performed.
