Patriarch of Armenians of Turkey, Sahak II, On Thursday, April 28, received Archbishop Levon Zekiyan, the spiritual leader of the Turkish Armenian community, and Krikor Ağabaloğlu, Pastor of the Gedikpaşa Armenian Protestant Church, in his office at the Patriarchate. Deputy Patriarch Senior Father Krikor Damadyan was also present at the reception.
The visiting leaders first congratulated His Beatitude the Patriarch on the occasion of the Holy Resurrection and wished well for the spiritual formation of the Believers.
Afterwards, Krikor Ağabaloğlu gave information about the renovation works of “Kamp Armen” and asked the two religious leaders for their moral support for these works, and also appealed to their own communities to ask those who are able to provide financial assistance as much as they can. Ağabaloğlu stated that although “Kamp Armen” belongs to the Gedikpaşa Armenian Protestant Church, the sister Armenian Churches also have a say here and their communities also have the right to use it.
During the meeting, all three religious leaders expressed their happiness about the official recovery and administration of “Kamp Armen” were given to the Gedikpaşa Protestant Church Foundation.
At the end of a friendly atmosphere, the three religious leaders decided to hold a new meeting in the coming days on what can be done legally regarding the management and use of “Kamp Armen”.
