Father Antuan Ilgıt, a member of the Jesuit Community, who was appointed as the Associate Bishop of the Anatolian Apostolic Vicarage with the title of “Tubernucencis Bishop”, had his Episcopal Consecration held in a magnificent ceremony held in Istanbul Saint Anthony Church the previous weekend. Last Sunday, Monsignor Ilgıt held his first service as Bishop in his own church with the intense participation of the congregation.
“I Will Try to Fulfill This Mission with Your Help and Prayers”
At the beginning of the service, the ‘Papal Decree on Episcopal Appointment’ was read. Monsignor Antuan Ilgıt, who took the floor later and shared his excitement with his congregation, said that he believe that he would fulfill his shepherding duty for his community.
The Holy Mass was officiated by the Apostolic Vicar of Anatolia and Associate Bishop of the Diocese, Monsignor Antuan Ilgıt and Church’s Father Dariousz Dogondke. At the end of the service, a small celebration cocktail was held in the church garden.
