The traditional “Christmas Carols Evening”, held for the 13th time this year at Pera Resurrection Church, took place on Sunday, December 10, at 4 pm. This year’s theme of the traditional evening was determined as “man’s need for salvation and God’s coming to our world with humility, not with judgment.”
The event, which has been held since 2010, aims to announce the good news of Christmas to those who do not know Christ and for Christians to celebrate Christmas together.
The evening of Christmas Carols, opened by Senem Ekener, one of the church leaders, started with the hymns “Don’t Be Late, Come Immanuel and The Lord’s Effort”. After the verses read, the event continued with the hymn “Let man be silent and the Word”.

Verses describing Jesus Christ’s coming to our world, why he came and what he did for us were read. Church members read these verses in order; Romans 3:10-12, 14-18, 20-24; Isaiah 59:15b-17; Isaiah 60:1-2; Psalms 70:5; Isaiah 64:1-4; Matthew 1:18-23; They read Philippians 2:6-11.
