The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has officially launched its global donation campaign aimed at collecting the resources needed for the restoration of cultural heritage structures. Can Teymur, Chairman of the Board of Directors of İskenderun Orthodox Churches Foundation, also attended the panel held in Ankara as a speaker and expressed his views.
At the ceremony held at the Anatolian Civilizations Museum in Ankara, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) officially launched the global donation campaign, which aims to collect the resources needed for the restoration of cultural heritage structures that were damaged or completely destroyed in the earthquakes in February 6, 2023 that caused great destruction in the south of Türkiye.
At the meeting, it was stated that the restoration financing of some characteristic structures in the region was provided by the government or other individual sources, but since the financial need was still far beyond the available resources, UNDP decided to launch a campaign calling for international solidarity in the face of this disaster.
