Armenian Patriarch of Turkey His Beatitude Sahak II entered the Armenian Apostolic Church of Altımermer Surp Hagop Church with the hymn of Hirashapar and attended the Holy Mass for the occasion of the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple.
The Most Holy Sacrament was presented by Rev. Drtad Uzunyan.
Rev. Zohrap Civanyan, Rev. Şınork Babikyan, Archpriest Rev. Goryun Fenerciyan, Rev. Zakar Koparyan, Rev. Şahen Uhanyan and Rev. Shirvan Mürzyan also were present at the celebration.
During the celebration, Sevan Arapoğlu, who was ordained deacon last Sunday, brought the chalice to the altar for the first time.
In his sermon, His Beatitude the Patriarch told briefly the meaning of the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord in the Temple, its historical formation, the fact that the 2 prophets who were in the Temple when Jesus were just 40 days old, saw and believed in the “Light” in Him, the reason why the Lord Jesus Christ was presented in the Temple, that every child born was a miracle of God.
After the Holy Communion was distributed, the ceremony ended with hymns.
