150 young people from different cities came together at the event of the Awakening Youth held in Izmir under the sponsorship of SAT-7 TÜRK. Christian youth from Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, Antalya, Trabzon, Hatay, Konya, Kayseri, Aydın, Kütahya, Eskişehir, Samsun, Muğla and İzmir participated in the event that took place on Saturday, June 10.
Young people came to Izmir on Saturday morning, spent time together and had breakfast. The event began at 10:00 am with worship and prayers. During the worship led by Özgür Tunç, the youth glorified the Lord.
After the worship, a blessing prayer was made for the brothers born in June by Halil Papasoğlu, one of the elders of the Altınözü Church of Jesus Christ. Then, under the direction of Papasoğlu, all went before the Lord. Prayers were said for the families of those who died in the earthquake disaster and for the people who suffered from the earthquake. He was called to the Lord for the awakening to happen in our country and the gospel (Word of God) to be heard. Prayers were also said for church leaders and servants.
Sharing on the Word of God after the prayer time, Halil Papasoğlu encouraged the youth by saying, “We had a really hard time due to the earthquake. The Bible says you will have troubles anyway. Paul asks who can separate us from the love of Christ in Romans 8. Boredom, pain, hunger, nakedness? He says we are above the victors through the one who loves us. As long as we keep our eyes on the Lord, we are above the victors. He has given this blessing to each of us. The Lord loved us very much. Sometimes we are not aware of this. As humans, we want to have big things for a small price. The Lord himself paid a great price for us. He gave his life. The Lord has blessed, strengthened, and encouraged each of us. As long as we keep our eyes on the Lord, we will be superior to the victors.”
The Fire of the Spirit took the stage at the time of the worship, where the last hymns were sung for Awakening Youth Türkiye held for the second time. Worship ended with hymns glorifying the Lord. Then the young people had lunch together, and an attempt was made that has not been done before in the history of the Church in Türkiye. 150 young people sang the hymn “O our Father in Heaven” together.
