AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik said, “A group that climbed over the wall of the Kadıköy Surp Takavor Church behaved unbecoming the respect that should be shown to this religious place. We condemn this disrespect towards the Surp Takavor Church. Disrespect to temples is disrespectful to everyone.’ Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun also used the expressions, “We condemn the disrespect towards Kadıköy Surp Takavor Church.” On the other hand, three people who allegedly danced by climbing the wall of the Surp Takavor Church were detained.
AK Party Spokesperson Ömer Çelik, on the other hand, made a statement on his Twitter account and stated that 2 people who climbed on the wall of Kadıköy Surp Takavor Church behaved unbecoming the respect that should be shown to this religious place.
Çelik said, “We condemn this disrespect towards the Surp Takavor Church. Disrespect to temples is disrespect to everyone. We consider any action that targets mosques, churches, synagogues and does not befit the dignity of religious places as a provocation and we condemn it in the name of humanity.
