Eyüp Virgin Mary (Surp Asdvadzadzin) Church was anointed and blessed by the Patriarch of Türkiye Armenians, Sahak II, and reopened for worship. Patriarch Sahak II performed the Holy Mass in the Church, which was reopened for worship.
On Thursday, December 7, 2023, Eyüp Virgin Mary Church, which has been under renovation for a while, was reopened for worship with a ceremony presided over by the Patriarch of Türkiye Armenians, Sahak II.
After the prayers recited during the ceremony, accompanied by prayers and hymns sung by the fathers, Patriarch Sahak II blessed the main altar and side altars of the church with Holy Oil, while Archbishop Aram Ateşyan anointed and blessed the other altars and the baptismal pool.
After the blessing ceremony, evening prayers were read. Afterwards, Patriarch Sahak II preached. The ceremony ended with the Lord’s Prayer sung together. Then the clergy took a group photo.
On Saturday, December 9, the Holy Mass was presented by the hand of Patriarch Sahak II at the Eyüp Surp Asdvadzadzin Church, which was re-anointed and opened for worship.
After the sermons, the Lord’s prayer was recited. Priest Şınork made the collective repentance happen. Afterwards, Communion(Haghortutyun) distribution started.
At the end of worship, Requiem (Hokehankisd) prayers were read for the clergy and servants of the Church who sleep in the Lord. Then, the cortege went to the church garden, where the ceremony ended with the final blessing of Patriarch Sahak II.
