The verdict has been announced in the lawsuit filed against the decision of the board that approved the demolition of the Iller Bank in Ankara Ulus and the construction of a temporary shop on the Armenian Catholic Cemetery. Ankara Regional Administrative Court rejected the ministries’ request for appeal and the protection order regarding the construction of the shop was definitively annulled. The Ankara Branch of the Chamber of Architects applied to the judiciary regarding the construction planned to be built on the Armenian Catholic graves in the Historical City Center of Ulus, Ankara.
The project of demolishing the Iller Bank in Ankara Ulus and building a temporary shop on the Armenian Catholic cemetery was taken to court with the objection of the Ankara Branch of the Chamber of Architects.
The decision of the board in question was annulled upon the objection of the Chamber of Architects, and the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization appealed the decision. Ankara Regional Administrative Court rejected the ministries’ request for appeal and the protection order regarding the construction of the shop was definitively annulled.
