Father Antuan Ilgıt, who has been serving as the Vicar General of the Anatolian Apostolic Vicarage and Episcopate for a while, was appointed as the “Assistant Bishop of the Anatolian Apostolic Vicarage” by Pope Francis.
Father Antuan Ilgıt, a member of the Jesuit Community who served as Vicar General and Chancellor of the Anatolian Apostolic Vicarage and is also a lecturer in the field of Moral Theology and Bioethics at the Pontifical Southern Italy Faculty of Theology in Naples, was given the title of “Bishop of Tubernucencıs” by Pope Francis. He was appointed as Auxiliary Bishop (Episcopus Auxiliaris) of the Anatolian Apostolic Vicarage.
Father Ilgıt’s appointment as Auxiliary Bishop was welcomed with joy by the congregation members living in the region.
Father Ilgıt recently attended the youth meeting held in Portugal with Turkish young people, and met with Pope Francis for a while together with the delegation of Turkish young people.
