According to the Armenian Church calendar, on Sunday, May 29, the Feast of the Entry of the Lord Jesus Christ into Heavenly Jerusalem is celebrated. The Patriarch of the Armenians of Turkey, Sahak II, presided over the Holy Mass (Surp Badarak) and preached at Bakırköy Dzınunt Surp Asdvadzadzni Church.
In the Holy Liturgy, presented by the priest of the church, Father Şahen Uhanyan, the deacons, senior readers and readers of the church served the sacrament. In the ceremony in which the administrators of the church foundation and believers were present, the members of the church’s Karasun Mangants Choir sang the hymns under the direction of their chief Sercan Gazer and accompanied by his organ.
After the Holy Mass, Patriarch Sahak II. preached in Armenian and Turkish.
After the sermons, Requiem (Hokehankisd) prayers were said for all those who sleep in the Lord. The ritual ended with the final blessing of His Beatitude the Patriarch and the Lord’s prayer said together.
