On Thursday, August 5, under the presidency of His Holiness Bursa Metropolitan Ioakeim, the eve of the Feast of the Change of Image (Greatness) was celebrated in Kınalıada Metomorfoz (Change of Appearance) Greek Monastery. Adalar Religious Officer Priest Harutyun Damadyan from the Armenian Apostolic Church, Kınalıada Surp Krikor Lusavorich Church Foundation Board Chairman Levon Şadyan and Hampartsum Küçükyan also attended the annual celebrations of the monastery.
After the ceremony held in the Monastery Church, Metropolitan Ioakeim blessed Diamandi Kumvopulos, responsible for the Summer Camp, and presented him with the medal of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and read his medal certificate.
At the end of the ceremony, representatives of the Surp Gregory the Illuminator Church congratulated Principal Diamandi. Afterwards, a table of love was held in the monastery garden.
In this year’s ceremonies, the coronavirus showed its negative impact. Unfortunately, students could not attend the summer camp this year due to the pandemic. The biggest wish of those present at the ceremony was that the pandemic will lose its effect and that the enthusiasm of this day will be fully experienced with the participation of the students next year.
At the table of love, Metropolitan Ioakeim thanked the representatives of the Surp Krikor Illuminator Church for their participation, and on this occasion, he offered his special respect and love to the Patriarch Sahak II and conveyed his best wishes.
