Awakening Youth, which was held with the participation of young people from different churches in Istanbul, came together again on Saturday, December 4, adhering to the coronavirus measures. The event, hosted by Sinem Melis Yıldırım, started with prayers.
The event, which Işıl Öcal from Beşiktaş Church led the worship time, continued with Turkish hymns and prayers.
Moving on to the part “Prayer for a city every month”, a classic of the Awakening Youth. This month’s city was Artvin. With the guidance of Sinem Melis Yıldırım, prayers were prayed for the valuable people and believers for the well-being and peace of the city with a population of approximately 170,000.
Then, the short film called “In the Shadow of Your Wings” was watched together. The young people born in December were prayed for, by Agape Church Pastor Daniel Günay.
Pastor Daniel Günay encouraged the youth with his sharing on the subject of ‘The Joy of the Lord’.
At the end of the program, the young people were divided into groups and sought answers to some questions related to the sermon:
- What do you enjoy?
- What are the things in your life that bring you joy?
- What do you do when things don’t go the way you want in your life?
- What are you focusing on?
- What is stealing your joy these days?
- What steps will you take to rejoice in the Lord?
- It has been announced that the next Istanbul Awakening Youth meeting will take place on Saturday, January 8, 2022.
Awakening Youth meetings are for Christian youth and open to all Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant youth. (SAT-7 TURK/SMY)
