A special ritual was held at the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Iskenderun like every year for the occasion of the “Memorial Day of the Dead”, which is the symbol of the entrance to Lenten period.
After the ritual led by the Parish Priest Dimitri Yıldırım, the clergy and the faithful went to the cemetery and prayed on the graves.
The Orthodox faithful of Iskenderun who entered the Lenten period got together for the Memorial day of the dead in the Christian cemetery of the city, praying. They lit candles and incenses and poured wheat on the graves of their beloved ones.
