This year, on Sunday, which coincides with the 8th day of the Great Easter, the “Commemoration of St. Martyrs” was held by the Armenian Catholic Archdiocese in front of the Şişli Armenian Catholic Cemetery Chapel and the Martyrs’ Monument.
After the Hokehankisd (Raquiem) prayer held in the cemetery chapel, presided over by Armenian Catholic Archbishop Levon Zekiyan, a march was held to the traditional Martyrs’ Monument accompanied by hymns.With a special announcement written by Archbishop Levon Zekiyan and also shared on the “Turkey Armenian Catholic Patriarchate” website and social media accounts, emphasized with a special announcement that this special day; is a day dedicated to the memory of the Saint Martyrs who gave their lives for their deep devotion and faith in Christ years ago; and to never forget it as an example of loyalty and renunciation. The Armenian Resuli Church officially recognized the quality of this martyrdom as a Christian faith, and it should not be forgotten that all of these martyrs were declared saints by the Great Roman Catholic Church.
