‘We Worship the Lord as a Unified Island “
Turkish Cypriots, Greek Cypriots and tourists got togehter in the free zone in Cyprus for a prayer of peace on Sunday, November 4th.
The purpose of the first meeting was to pray for the peace with the Turkish Cypriots from the North and Greek Cypriots from the South. For this occasion, attendees came from three churches of the North and four churches of the South.
The theme of the meeting was the 1stverse of the Psalm 133: “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”
The faithful coming from the both parts of the island sang hymns in English, Greek and Turkish. Pastors prayed for the unity of the Christians living on the island. All the prayers were translated in three languages.
During the prayer a Turkish Cypriot said: “We want to see the brothers and sisters coming both from North and South hugging each other and worshipping together. We beg you, Lord, do the same thing on both sides!”
The organizers said that they will continue to organize this prayer regularly in the future.
