Awakening Youth, which was held with the participation of young people from different churches in Istanbul, was held again on February 5. The meeting began with Turkish hymns and prayers, with Erman Koparan from Beşiktaş Protestant Church leading the worship time.
Then, the short film called “Ekinci” was watched together. Moving on to the “Prayer for a city every month”, a classic of the Awakening Youth. This month’s city was Denizli.
For the well-being and well-being of the city with a population of approximately 1 million, prayers were prayed for the valuable people and believers under the guidance of Sinem Melis Yıldırım from the Bible House Immanuel Church.
The young people born in February were prayed by Alper Özharar from the Diri Su Church.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Speaker Alper Özharar who shared on this chapter, (Matthew 28:18-20) said; “The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us that all humanity is sinful and needs God’s grace. The biggest obstacle to people’s understanding of this gospel is that they think they are “good, sufficient, and not in need of God.” Jesus Christ commanded his disciples to go all over the world and preach the Gospel. As Christians, we are called to share the love of Jesus and the good news he brought to others.”
It has been announced that the next Istanbul Awakening Youth meeting will take place on Saturday, March 5, 2022.
