Last Sunday evening, a Christmas Music Day organized by Pera Resurrection Church for the 9th time. About 300 people participated in this event.
This year, the greatest interest from non-Christians has been seen. There were many people who came from different cities for this event and left with a great happiness and encouragement.
Verses from both the Old Testament and the New Testament were read about the coming of Jesus Christ to the world, why he came and what He did for us. In addition to the traditional Christmas hymns, new Christmas hymns were also sung.
Although there were people from Pera Resurrection Church in the worshiping group, the presence of people who served from different churches displayed a fine example of the brotherhood.
Nurhan Çolakoğlu gave the Christmas sermon. “The name of Jesus’ means Savior. He came to give you the strength you never had in your life. He came in order to free your will from the forces that are too strong for you, to save you and teach you to give priority to the weak. He came to save your relationship with God. You’re forgiven. You can make peace with God You can be called God’s child. You may be completely correct with the power of God. You must know that there is a God who loves you and cares about you. Because Jesus is the Savior and came to free us from our sins” said Çolakoğlu in his sermon.
After the sermon, the program continued with hymns and prayers.
The Christmas concert which took place in 2017 was recorded by the SAT-7 TÜRK. The CD containing this registration will be sent to churches as a Christmas gift.
