Christmas Celebrations in Protestant Churches

Protestant Churches in Turkey celebrated the Nativity of Jesus Christ in church buildings or meeting places on the evening of December 24, within the scope of Covid-19 measures. Churches, which celebrated the Nativity Day online last year due to the pandemic, experienced the enthusiasm of being able to come together this year.

Kadıköy International Community Church (KUT) held a Christmas Celebration on Sunday, December 26 at the Kadıköy Marriage Office allocated to them by the Kadıköy Municipality.

The Christmas celebration, which started with hymns, continued with verse readings prepared by the children of the church. The celebration, which continued with the children singing hymns, was presented to the participants in the video titled “Christmas Through the Eyes of Children”, which was prepared during the pandemic last year. Then, KUT Church Pastor Vahan İsaoğlu gave a special sermon for the Nativity Day. The meeting took place in Turkish and English.

After the celebration, refreshments were given to the participants in the common area of ​​Kadıköy Marriage Office.

The Christmas celebration held on the evening of December 24 at Kadıköy Anatolian Protestant Church started with hymns and an opening speech. After the hymns, a slide show was presented, approaching Christmas from a different perspective. Pastor of the church, Gürkan Çamsun, gave his special Christmas sermon on the personalities of Baby Jesus, Joseph and Mary. After the sermon, Christmas gifts were given to the children of his church, and the joy of Christmas continued in the churchyard with carols.
