Last year, upon the invitation of Anatolian Apostolic Vicar and Bishop Paolo Bizzeti, Christian Archeology Professor Enrico Tromba from the Italian Reggio Calabria Higher Institute of Religious Sciences, who came to Hatay’s İskenderun district, prepared a booklet telling the history of the İskenderun Cathedral.
At the request of Monsignor Paolo Bizzeti, Historian-Archaeologist Enrico Tromba, who has been preparing a book about the history of the Iskenderun Annunciation Latin Catholic Church, the only cathedral in the Anatolia region, for about a year, has prepared an 8-page booklet in the form of a brochure to be distributed to community members on Friday, December 8, 2023, the 165th birthday of the church.
Tromba noted that he will soon complete his book, which he continues to prepare with information compiled from both the church’s own archives and the archives in Italy, and stated that the booklet he prepared contains very new information about the history of the church, which the majority of the community members do not know.
