A special service was held at the Surp Hovhan Vosgeperan Church in Taksim on Thursday, May 13, on the 40th day of Hampartsum/Lord Jesus Christ’s Easter Feast.
Since the Holy Rosary Prayers continued throughout the month of May, the rosary prayer was made before the ritual.
High Priest Hagopos Çopuryan, Der HaygAram Çekiç, Subordinate Diakon Jan Acemoğlu and readers attended the special service presided over by High Priest Vartan Kazancıyan.
Jesus Christ suffered for our salvation, was crucified, rose from the dead on the third day, and appeared in His glorious body to His disciples and others for forty days and ascended into heaven. Before Jesus ascended to heaven, he told his apostles, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and train all nations as my disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Teach them to obey everything I command you,” he gave a universal mission, promising that he would “be with them every moment until the end of the world.”
Surp Hovhan Vosgeperan Choir sang hymns in the special service, under the direction of Chief Zaven Agay. The mass, which was closed to the congregation due to the pandemic, was shared live on the social media pages of the Taksim Surp Hovhan Vosgeperan Church.
