Troy Museum in Çanakkale and Odunpazarı Modern Museum in Eskişehir were deemed worthy of special awards in the “European Museum of the Year Awards”, one of the most prestigious museum awards given by the European Museum Forum (EMF).
According to the statement made on the social media account of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the “European Museum of the Year Awards”, which is shown as one of the longest-running and most respected museology awards given every year by the European Museum Forum under the auspices of the Council of Europe, found their owners.
In the competition, which could not be held last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the museums deemed worthy of awards for 2020 and 2021 were announced online on YouTube.
The Troy Museum received the “European Museum of the Year Special Award” for 2020 and the Odunpazarı Modern Museum for 2021.
Bayburt Kenan Yavuz Ethnography Museum was also awarded the “2021 Silletto Award” in the same competition.
