Patriarch Sahak II received Yavuz Saltık, Head of Social Services Department of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, on Wednesday, March 10. President Saltik stated that the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality could also contribute to the Patriarchate Social Assistance Commission, and promised that this way, through the commission, aids would be provided to the members of the Armenian Community and that he would do his best to ensure that cooperation could be realized. The aid cards of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality reached the Armenian Patriarchate of Turkey.
The statement made on the Patriarchate’s Facebook page on the subject is as follows;
As of this week, 567 pair of aid cards allocated to families in need by our community within the scope of Social Services by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality have reached the Patriarchate.
As it is known, Yavuz Saltık, Head of Social Services Department of IMM, met with His Beatitude the Patriarch Sahak II. and the administrators of the Patriarchate Social Assistance Commission at the Patriarchate on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. During the meeting, Mr. Yavuz Saltık stated that after getting information about the activities of the Patriarchate Social Assistance Commission, IMM could also contribute to the commission.
In the aid envelopes that reached our Patriarchate, there is a letter written by İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu and two “ŞOK Gift Cards” worth 50 TL each. In the letter of the Mayor, the wish “We will get through these difficult days together, we will succeed together” draws attention. These aid cards, which have reached our Patriarchate, will be given to families in need next week in cooperation with the Patriarchate Social Aid Commission and the Poor Branches of our churches (Ahkadakhinam) and will be distributed with regular aid boxes. Thus, this aid from the IMM will be distributed to the families in need of our community through the Patriarchate Social Assistance Commission.
The administrators of the Patriarchate Social Assistance Commission also thank IMM President Ekrem İmamoğlu and Social Services Department Head Yavuz Saltık for their valuable support.
