Beşiktaş’s Brazilian star Josef de Souza and his wife Danielle Souza attended the church youth meeting called Awakening Youth together with Christian youth. Accompanying Turkish chants, Souza gave a 30-minute speech in a part of the program. Emphasizing how important Jesus Christ is for his life, Souza shared that all honor and glory belong to Jesus Christ.
The Awakening Youth, which was held with the participation of young people from different churches in Istanbul, came together again on Saturday, January 15 at the Pera Diriliş Church in Istanbul, adhering to the coronavirus measures.
With Yusuf Peker, one of the worship leaders of the Dirisu Church, directing the worship time, the meeting started with Turkish hymns and prayers. Then, the short film “Our Father in the Sky” was watched together. The young people born in January were prayed by the Pastor of Tuzla Protestant Church, Emre Karaali.
Sharing on the 1st Kings 3:5-9 chapter, Pastor Emre Karaali asked the young people how you would respond if God said to you, say whatever you want from me. Pastor Karaali said, “We see that King Solomon’s answer to such a question is Wisdom from God. The foundation of wisdom is Jesus Christ Himself. So, in the new year, our wish from God the Father is to know more about Jesus Christ and to have Him. Then other good things that we do not want will be provided by God.”
In addition, gifts were given to Josef de Souza and his wife, who attended as guests, and they were prayed for the blessing. Then the famous football player took photos with all the participants separately.
It has been announced that the next Istanbul Awakening Youth meeting will take place on Saturday, February 5, 2022.
Awakening Youth meetings are for Christian youth and open to all Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant youth. (SAT-7 TURK/SMY)
