After the devastating earthquake on 6 February, the voices of prayer rose again in the St. John’s Orthodox Church in Hatay’s Arsuz district. The Holy Mass was held last weekend in the garden of the church, which was destroyed after the earthquake.
The Holy Mass, which coincides with the Remembrance of All Saints, was conducted by Archimandrite Pavlus Orduluoğlu, who was promoted to the title of Archimandrite in recent months. In addition to Abuna Dimitri Yıldırım and Abuna Yusuf Nicholas Papasoğlu, Fathers of the Iskenderun Church, Antakya Church Father Dimitri Doğum also attended the service.
The members of the Iskenderun and Antakya congregations participated in this Holy Mass was held in the garden of the Historical St. John of Arsuz Greek Orthodox Church, which was destroyed in the earthquake.
It was pointed out that performing the rituals in many churches, especially in Arsuz, during the ritual in which prayers were made and the holy communion was distributed, after the devastating and very hurtful earthquake disaster, alleviated the pain a little, and it was hoped that such disasters would not happen again.
